THE FIRST DATE!!!!

So a few days later I had a good friend ask me if I could get someone to go on a double date with him and a girl he met at a cafe for that night. Angela immediately came to mind. I went and asked my roommate that had been in the ward for a good while for her number. After a few minutes of pacing back and forth and pumping myself up I finally called her and got her voice mail. I asked her what she was up to that night and told her to call me back. A major detail I had neglected was that she was camping that night with some friends which she told me on Wednesday.  So, I am with my friend and we are trying to find a campsite that isn't full and I haven't had service on my phone for a good while.  Since we were meeting other people we drove back down to where we had service to give directions to the rest of the group.  When I looked at my phone I had a message.  I didn't recognize the number so I checked it.   She called me a few minutes later and reminded me of that detail but added, "but I'm free tomorrow." I was so nervous  i just said, "Ok, i'll talk to you later than" and hung up. As soon as I hung up I felt so stupid but i was too embarrassed to call her back.  I'm free tomorrow was an invitation to do something some other time and I thought that he must have just called because he was bored then and I was the only girl that he knew so far.  Then I got to thinking and wondering about how in the world he got my number.  I realized that he had gone to some effort of either asking someone for it or looked it up in an old ward directory that was in his apartment.  Luckily the next day he called again for a date.  I thought it was interesting and I thought that this could be fun but I didn't want to get my hopes up.  We went out to eat and then on a walk.  we talked the entire time and it wasn't awkward at all.  Finally!!  OH and we went hot tubbing too. It was the best first date I ever had by far.

The Meeting

So, he thought I was crazy! I didn't think she was crazy.  I just thought she was magnifying her calling.  We were both living in Crestwood Apartments in Provo and I am the ward publicity person.  Which means that I have to take everyone's picture and put it into a directory.  I only asked him a couple of times at church if I had taken it, but in my defense I asked lots of people if I had take their picture.  Then he came over to collect fast offerings and I couldn't fill out my slip correctly. She thought I was hot.  Whatever. Still in the same day but later at night I saw him at a cookie night my apartment organized and found out a little more about him.  A girl had brought a little dog that was dressed up at cookie night and I asked her if she would dress her dog up like that and she said  I wouldn't have a dog that small.  That's when I got interested.  I thought that he was not interested at all and was ready to keep looking.  Little did she know that she intimidated me which made me extremely interested.  I thought she was way out of my league and that I never stood a chance.  So after Sunday we didn't see each other until Wednesday at meet the Bishop night.  She wasn't there at first I was there I was just surrounded by boys that were extremely interested and he didn't notice.   That's a lie she was talking to the Bishop, but I can't say that I didn't flirt with other girls.  After a while I finally saw her.  She waved at me from across the room, smiled, and walked over to me.  We started talking.  There was also another boy there that was different.  He wasn't getting any hints and kept interrupting our conversation.  I immediately recognized her sweet shoes that she was wearing and complimented her on it.  They were my awesome shoes that Steven got me for Christmas they are worth noticing.  As the night went on the other boy didn't get the hint even as we were scooting further from him and closer to each other.  He still stayed.  I was going to ask her on a date but it would have been awkward with him there.  At the end of the night there was an awkward wave (let me tell you it was awkward) and a short goodbye and a hope for another opportunity.  I left thinking that he was a nice guy, but he couldn't be interested and that I wished I could have just talked to him alone without someone else interrupting.  I was also pretty excited that he noticed my shoes and he remembered that I like big dogs.
